SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Dell Rapids claimed the program’s first state championship with a four-set win over Dakota Valley on Saturday night.
The Quarriers took the first two sets by close margins, winning by four and two points, respectively. The Panthers forced a fourth set with a win in set three, but Dell Rapids sealed the victory with a dominant 25-11 win in set four.
Madelynn Henry delivered a standout performance for the Quarriers, recording 24 kills and eight digs. Claire Munch of Dakota Valley matched her with the same stats. They were the only players in the match to achieve double-digit kills.
Dell Rapids finished the season 32-3, while Dakota Valley ended the year at 31-6.
