Omaha crash on I-80 off-ramp leaves one person seriously injured

OMAHA, Neb. — A crash on the off-ramp of 72nd Street on westbound Interstate 80 has left one person in critical condition.

According to Omaha police, the incident occurred just after 2:30 a.m. The crash led to the closure of the 72nd Street ramp entrance from I-80 for over two hours.

Officials report that a pickup truck rolled over several times while exiting the 72nd westbound ramp. The unrestrained man was ejected from the vehicle and later transported by the Omaha Fire Department to Bergan Mercy with serious injuries.

Alcohol and failure to wear a seatbelt are being investigated as possible causes of the crash.

The 72nd Street ramp entrance to I-80 has since reopened.
